On November 16-17, 2016, the second Philippine Coal Business and Policy Forum is being organized again in collaboration with the Philippine Department of Energy, ASEAN Centre for Energy, ASEAN Forum on Coal, Philippine Chamber of Coal Mines, the Philippine Independent Power Producers Association, and the Independent Power Producers Forum (HK). This  will be at the New World Hotel, Makati, Philippines.

Coal remains a core part of the Philippine’s electricity generation mix even as the country pushes aggressively for clean energy. The Philippines’ coal consumption could grow by more than one million tons annually until 2020 as its coal-fired power plants continue to support its robust economy.

Likewise, consumption of coal by Southeast Asian countries reached 22 million tons last year.

The questions:

   - Can coal users be assured of stable coal supply and at what prices, during the next 10 years?

   - What policies in the Philippines and in other source countries could affect stable supply and prices?

   - How does global climate change policies impact on the market?

   - Will coal solve the problem of bringing down cost of electricity?

These are among the major issues to be discussed during the Coal Business and Policy Forum.

Join us in this important gathering of stakeholders, suppliers and planners.
